Mahindra Mojo launch has been confirmed for 16th October, before which the technical specifications have been revealed. Mahindra Mojo is the company’s first attempt at the premium motorcycle market in India.
Mahindra Mojo will be powered by a single cylinder, four stroke, 292 cc, liquid cooled engine. This four valve engine will drive the bike to a maximum power of 27 BHP and 3 Kgm of torque. There will be two ( one into two) exhausts on the either sides of Mojo. The use of mono shock and upside down front forks will give the bike stability and a comfortable ride. Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tires will help the bike grip better, which will come as standard.
To add more comfort to the bike the handle bars and foot pegs are placed to give the rider an upright posture. Considering the tremendous power and stability of the bike good braking system had to be considered, having these things considered the Mahindra Mojo is equipped with a 320 mm disc up front and 240 mm disc at the rear. Mojo would have a top-speed of 165 km/h, with fuel efficiency in the range of 30-35 km/l
The report states that the bike will cost Rs 1.8 lakh ex-showroom in Mumbai. With the purchase of Mojo, the customer also gets a helmet and jacket. Mojo has competition from no less than 6 bikes: KTM Duke 390, RC390, Benelli 300 TNT, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Honda CBR 250R, Yamaha R3. Agreed that only Honda CBR 250R and KTM Duke 390 are in the same price range as Mojo, but we cannot forget the Pulsar RS 400 which will be launched in few months time.
Mahindra Mojo was first shown at the auto expo in Delhi back in 2010. Since then the company has made small design changes and technical adjustments for the best rider experience in the Indian conditions.
