Maruti Suzuki is set to launch its all new YRA premium hatchback next year. New YRA will be placed over Swift and will compete with new Hyundai Elite i20 and Volkswagen Polo GT TDI and TSI models. Talking about the front portion of the car, YRA too looks European in design which we have already seen in Swift, while rear is completely new design compare to any other Maruti Suzuki we have seen.
Recently YRA was spotted out of the airport indicating car has just arrived in India. While we have seen may at times this model gets spied in Europe. New 2015 Maruti Suzuki YRA premium hatch is the top end variant which comes loaded with LED taillights and gets 5-spoke alloy wheels wrapped around 16-inch tyres and low ground clearance. New YRA also includes daytime running lamps (DRL), we have already observed older i20 whose sales increased rapidly after adding these DRLs. The ORVMs are mounted on the door, the door handles are chrome treated and lip spoiler has been added to the boot-lid below the windscreen. New YRA comes with long wheel base which will give plenty of space to customers.
As it was mentioned earlier new hatchback is expected to be very premium the interior also gives the glimpse of the same. The center console features a digital display unit could be similar to one in Ciaz, which will be loaded with majority of controls, while twin dial cluster comes with blue illumination. The top end variant will also feature automatic climate control, defogger, reverse parking sensors and dual front airbags as standard kit. Due to recent debate on the safety features in Indian cars it is expected that Maruti Suzuki will keep atleast ABS and air bags standard in India version. The Maruti Suzuki YRA will come with the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine options. The international versions could also get the 1.4-litre or 1.6-litre petrol motor depending on the market, while the upcoming 1.0-litre turbocharged mill is also a possibility. Could be available with both 5 speed manual and automatic transmission. Recently, Suzuki introduced dual jet technology in UK specific Swift which YRA is likely to have. As we have observed Maruti Suzuki has taken a leap to sell cars in India, the company has recently launched Ciaz C segment sedan, which pushed the brand, upward in the premium cars segment and Maruti Suzuki B+ segment YRA is expected to take the same legacy.
