Maruti YBA or the Vitara is expected to make its debut at the Auto Exp 2016.
Maruti YBA or internationally known as the Vitara, has been spied inside out. It is the first time, we are getting a chance to have a look at the interiors of the car. The exteriors too has been revealed in the spy shots. Only the windshield is not visible being under over. The compact SUV was spied in a hotel parking in Rajasthan.
The Maruti YBA has the appearance of an impressive SUV. The tall front fascia gives a very bold look and looks simalar to the Hyundai Creta. If the Creta was a Maruti Suzuki product, it would have looked like this. The Maruti YBA has a very traditional SUV like boxy body style. The front of the car has projector headlamps, Day Time Running LEDs and a grille divided into two parts. The compact SUV spied had separate rectangular turn indicators placed above the fog lamps. A design we saw years ago. This can be called as bold move by Maruti Suzuki.
The sides of the car, given its boxy deign, does not carry any lines or curves. The SUVish appearance is supported by the thick pillars especially the C-pillar. The rear of the car is completely camouflaged. But we can make out a slightly curved windshield with a rear wiper and a spoiler on tailgate. The license plate will be housed in the tailgate itself.
Coming to the interiors of the car, the Maruti YBA gets the piano black treatment found on the S-Cross and the Baleno. The steering has controls mounted on it. The instrument console has two analog dials and a LCD in between. The center console looks similar to that of the S-Cross. However, it misses out an infotainment system. This indicates the chances of a higher variant.
The dashboards houses the AC vents along with the music system. Below, the music system are the climate control options. The gear stick is again borrowed from the Baleno. The seats come with dual tone. There are silver touches on the dashboard, door panels, cupholders, etc. The Maruti YBA seems to have enough space for five people to sit comfortably.
The Maruti YBA will be powered by a 1.2-liter K-series petrol engine petrol engine and a 90 HP version of the 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine. These engines will be mated on a 5-speed manual transmission to transfer power to the front wheels. However, an AMT unit can also be expected.
