Mercedes-Benz are ready to launch their new car in the hatch back section this festive season. With a long list of cars lined up to be launched anon, Mercedes-Benz have their magic box ready to amuse the enthusiasts and this box will be the much awaited Mercedes-Benz GLA which was spotted recently in Pune. Dealers of Mercedes-Benz have already started to take booking amount of 1 lakh Rs for the car which is yet to be launched. The deliveries for the same are expected to start around September or October.
The Mercedes GLA is based on the Mercedes Front Wheel Architecture (MFA) platform similar to the A class. GLA will be competing with the Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Volvo V40 Cross Country. GLA has a greater ground clearance relative to the A Class and the body cladding, roof rails and skid plates add to the tough look of the car.
If you are sitting inside the GLA you would feel like sitting in the A Class as the interiors of the GLA are similar to the A Class. Three- spoke steering wheels, COMAND screen on the center console and the SLS inspired AC vents. Mercedes have a different plan for the GLA, they are planning to import the car as a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU) and the local assembly is expected to be carried out at the Chakan plant in Pune in the future.
GLA would use a 2,143 CC engine which can produce a maximum power of 167 HP and a torque of 350 Nm paired with a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox.
