Piaggio Motoplex launched in Pune

Aimed as a one stop shop for Aprilia, Moto Guzzi and Vespa, the Piaggio Motoplex store in Pune is the first of its kind store for Piaggio in India.  This new showroom is located on the Pune Nagar Road in Yerwada.

This one stop shop for all Piaggio owned brands is the first in India and will be followed by least three more such stores in the next two to three months in cities such as Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai.

The Piaggio Group is Europe’s largest 2-wheeler manufacturer and entered India recently in April 2012 with the Vespa brand of scooters which has seen quite a lot of buyers in the recent past due to its classic retro appeal. The Vespa is positioned in the premium scooter segment. Aprilia manufactures high-performance bikes and is known for its V4 bikes like the RSV4 and the Tuono V4 and V-twin bikes like the Shiver, Dorsoduro and Caponord.

Moto Guzzi is a little-known brand in India, has the California and Eldorado, and the Audace, all powered by V-twin engines are displayed at the Motoplex.

Speaking at the launch, Stefano Pelle, Managing Director of Piaggio India said, “We are very happy to launch South Asia’s first Motoplex store in India. The Motoplex store is a futuristic concept that enables a dealer to leverage more brands and products within the same retail space. The Motoplex formula is the realization of the broader vision of the Piaggio Group in the field of offering its vehicles and developing a closer relationship with its customers and potential customers. Not only is this a showroom for Vespa, Moto Guzzi, Aprilia and Piaggio motorcycles and scooters, but it is also a fascinating experience of the renowned style, technology and heritage of two-wheeled vehicles which are proudly ‘Made in Italy’. We’ll launch more of these stores in the future, all over the subcontinent”.
