Italian two wheeler maker Piaggio Vespa launched its first online store in collaboration with Snapdeal.com in India, in order to reach out the Vespa customers. What next? Piaggio is now the first brand in India to launch its online store.
The collaboration with Snapdeal has raised eyebrows and this move is to target the younger customers who are digitally active and prefer purchases that provide easy delivery and transaction without investing much time.
“Today’s generation loves online shopping and prefers brands that provide buyer friendly shopping options. Hence we decided to launch a virtual store that will offer the fastest possible Vespa buying experience. Snapdeal is India’s largest online marketplace and hence it was the best platform for us to launch our first online store. Through this collaboration, we aim to take our relationship with our consumers to the next level. This initiative of ours will be an integral part of our larger marketing strategy,” said Sanjeev Goyle, executive vice president – two wheeler business, Piaggio Vehicles.
The Snapdeal online store has now the variants of Vespa, Vespa X, Vespa Elegante. The Snapdeal Vespa online store has been launched today and the entire range of Vespa model will be available in the store of a booking cost of Rs 5000.
“Automotive category on Snapdeal has grown at a phenomenal pace in the last 12 months. We have seen a tremendous customer response towards this category. With the Vespa Brand Store, on the Snapdeal platform, we want to create a unique shopping experience for our consumers where they have access the entire Vespa Scooters’ portfolio from the comfort of their homes” said Tony Navin, senior vice president, electronics and home, Snapdeal.
