When BMW announces “i” concept, it focuses on plug in hybrid system and pure electric vehicle. Initially a Munich-based automaker centred the initial product offensive around two models the fabulous i3 and sexy i8 2+2 coupe. BMW’s trademark twin-kidney grille appears outlined in matte blue or matte grey, which adds beauty to its fabulous design. The exterior lighting is fitted with high tech LED’s in front and rear, in some of the market outside the US so called “laser headlamps” are fitted emitting pure white light, extremely bright light.
The 2015 model BMW i8 contains 7.1 kWh lithium ion battery that delivers all electric range of 37 km under NEDC. The powerhouse of the car, i8 marries with 1,499 cc (91.5 cu in) I3 turbo three cylinders with 228 hp powers, that will accelerate 0-100 km/h (0 to 60 mph) in 4.4 seconds and with a top speed of 250 km/h (160 mph).
It’s a good news for BMW fans, even for me- it is rumoured that BMW is launching advance version i8S on the 100th anniversary of BMW. Since the BMW has learned a lot about carbon fiber through i3 and i8 this time they will definitely try to aim the critical aspects such as torsional and bending rigidity, crash performance, and durability. Even though it resembles to i8, we expect that it will showcase a more sporty and dynamic look with more aggressive aerodynamic aids. Since the demand is rising for i8, it is expected the price will be i8S will carry 30 percent more premium over its siblings.
