The petrol engine is a 2.0 litre, four cylinder Si4 unit producing 237 bhp and 340 Nm of torque accelerating from  0-100 kmph in 8.6 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 209 kmph. While the diesel vehicle returns 17.54 kms to a litre of fuel, the petrol gives 11.62 kms on a litre of fuel. All engines are mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission and power is sent to all four wheels.

The company calls it “A convertible for all seasons”, which will mostly be used on the urban tarmac, occasionally wading in rough environs, but fully capable of the off-roading duties it will be entrusted with.

The vehicle now gets a fabric soft-top that folds away in a Z-fold mechanism. It takes 18 seconds to lower and 21 seconds to bring back your head under the roof. The roof does not affect the boot space, which stands at 251 litres. The company states that the fabric roof is the longest and widest currently fitted to any vehicle on sale today.

The Range Rover Evoque Convertible measures 4370 mm in length, 2085 mm in width and 1609 mm in height. The wheelbase is 2660 mm. Interior on the car is similar to the hard-top Evoque. The car weighs in at nearly 2 tonnes and goes on sale next year.
