Renault Kadjar will be a new SUV to be launched by the company in collaboration with Nissan in the international market. Kadjar is a well thought name by the company where ‘Kad’ is derived from the word quad which resembles a four wheel drive vehicle that can conquer every terrain and the later part of the name is inspired from the word ‘jaillir’. Jaillir is a French word which means agility. All put together the company explains that the name means, ‘to suddenly emerge from somewhere’.
The Kadjar will be positioned above the Captur SUV and will be built on Renault-Nissan’s Common Module Family platform. The looks, powertrains and architecture of the Kadjar will be borrowed from the Nissan Qashqai.
The Captur SUV had captured a lot of market for the company and this is the same strategy the company is willing to use with the Kadjar. The Kadjar is developed in strong collaboration with Nissan and some elements used on the Capture SUV might also be used in the Kadjar and this could be their chance to make the same effect as the Capture once did.
