The most promising kid appears for a test tomorrow! I mean Renault Kwid would be launched tomorrow and its parent, Renault will be waiting with bated breath to see the response from customers. The Kwid has been designed in India, for India and made in India with a staggering 98% localization.
The Kwid’s SUV-inspired design is an innovation in its segment. 2016 Renault Kwid overturns established A-segment design cues thanks to a robust, Duster inspired styling. The SUV like styling and body construction will make Renault Kwid very generous cabin space with a good amount of boot space over Alto 800 and Hyundai EON.
The Kwid will come with an 800cc engine to start with and later on 1.0-liter engine with an option of AMT. The 800cc mill will have a power output of about 57bhp which, for a few, might seem less. It must not be forgotten that this is a small car with mileage more of a concern than performance and with a total weight of just 660 kg to move around, it should make for a peppy little engine.
One look at the interiors and we know Renault have challenged the competition with arguably the best in class interior. Renault seems to be understanding the mindset on Indians totally, the proof of which, is the integration of 7-inch infotainment display on the dashboard.
Measuring 3680mm in length and 1580mm in width, the 2016 Renault Kwid will be the most spacious vehicle in its segment. It will also have the segment-leading ground clearance of 180mm, which is, in fact, more than several crossovers/SUVs in India. The 2016 Renault Kwid, would cost about 3.75-4.75 lakh with an on-road price of 4.25 lakh for the base version.
Stay tuned for the various trims and prices to be unveiled tomorrow.
