French automaker Renault today, launched its new multi purpose vehicle- Renault Lodgy in India. The car is the company’s first addition to the MPV portfolio of vehicles available in India. It will compete with the Toyota Innova, Honda Mobilio and the Mahindra Xylo. The car has already been quite popular in the European market, and judging by the good reviews that it is receiving, nothing is going to stop it from topping the Indian MPV sales.
The Lodgy is a 7-8 seater spacious car that’s spacious enough to even offer use-when-needed dining trays, like you get on aircraft carriers. Thanks to the completely foldable second and third rows, the standard boot space of 207 litres can be increased to upto 9 times!
Renault is claiming a fuel economy of 21.04 kpl for the Lodgy. It has a 1461 cc diesel engine with manual transmission that has 5-6 speed gearbox.
Buyers can chose from a range of 6 colours for their Lodgy- Royal Orchid, Planet grey, Absolute steel, Pearl white, Moonlight silver and Indigo breeze. Safety features like ABS and EBD are standard features in the car, so are power steering and air conditioning. Features that are available only in the high end variant are touch-screen infotainment system with GPS, parking assistant system and the chrome sparkle.
Although the Lodgy is available in 7 variants, it comes with only one engine, one transmission and one fuel option. Renault is soon set to follow its launch of Lodgy with a punchier version which would be named the Lodgy Stepway.
Prized at just 8.19 lakh ex-showroom, it sure is a great deal for all that comes with it!
