The hot selling Maruti Suzuki Swift is getting ready for its 2014 variant. Maruti Suzuki Swift has been in a market for a long time and its overwhelming response from the customers as a favorite B+ segment hatchback inspired the company to bring 2014 Maruti Suzuki Swift. As we reported earlier the 2014 Maruti Suzuki Swift has been spotted in the stockyard of Maruti and a new report on interweb suggests that the car is ready for launch with an automatic transmission variant on 16th of Sept.
As spyshot suggest the only addition in 2014 Maruti Suzuki Swift will get a set of DRLs around the fog lamps (similar to Hyundai i20). The report on ETAuto suggests that the new Swift will come with automatic gearbox. On which variant the car will have automatic variant is still a mystery, but there are high chances of AMT gearbox on petrol variant of 2014 Swift. Maruti is known for offering something new in its vehicles for the first time in segment, which competition doesn’t offer, just like AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) on Celerio. If at all Maruti launches AMT with a diesel variant on the car, it will be first in class before Tata launches Bolt hatchback with diesel AMT. The recently launched Tata Zest Diesel AMT has same 1.3 liter Multiject engine that plonks in Swift’s and Bolt’s engine bay. It will be interesting to see if Maruti will launch a complete automatic gearbox on a petrol variant which is already tried and tested with Swift Dzire or the company will offer AMT gearbox on the 2014 Suzuki Swift that can fit both petrol and diesel variants.
Maruti Suzuki also plans to launch AMT variant of Alto K10 in first quarter of 2015 and in upcoming months Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and a refreshed Alto 800 are scheduled in market from Maruti. As the customers demand of automatic transmission is increasing, Tata Motors is also planning to try its luck with 2014 Nano Active Twist, which will come with AMT transmission and openable rear hatch.
