A sparsely camouflaged version of the Mercedes Benz B-Class W246 Facelift was spotted testing . The spy-shots captured reveal – to some extent – that there will be minor cosmetic changes to the interiors and the front facade of the car. Mercedes Benz is likely to showcase the facelifted version of the B-Class W246 hatchback at the Paris Motor Show, this October.
Mercedes -Benz India Ltd (MBIL) launched the B-class hatchback in 2012, strengthening its position among the luxury car maker pack. The German luxury car manufacturer introduced the B 180 and B 200 variants in India, as the least priced car in its line up here. Following the success of the B180 and B200 models, Mercedes-Benz introduced the A-Class hatchback. Both the A and B-Class hatchbacks use Mercedes Benz’s Modular Front-wheel drive Architecture (MFA).
Mercedes -Benz now plays host to three platforms, Modular Front-wheel Drive Architecture (MFA), Modular Rear -Wheel Drive Architecture (MRA) and the third( unnamed) architecture for its sportscar range. All three platforms, will work within Mercedes Benz’ modular system .This system groups 90 component sets into modules, such as front and rear suspension, electrical architectures and engine/transmission. By using these modules, Mercedes Benz hopes to lower costs and the time taken to come up with new car models.
The 2015 Mercedes-Benz B-Class W246 Facelift will retain the engine and transmission specifications of the older version. The changes will be on the outside. The car will sport a new front grille, with distinct horizontal chrome slats. The front bumper and the headlights will be re-designed with LED headlamps making it to the options list. The tail lamps, exhaust and steering wheel will also be revamped.
