The Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV has been spotted testing on Indian roads. Chevrolet aims to capture the market of the Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe and the upcoming Ford Endeavour.
The Trailblazer has two engine options in the international market, a 2.5 ltr 150 bhp and a 2.8 ltr 180 bhp engine. Both these oil-burners use a Variable Geometry Turbo for smoother power delivery. We expect the car to have a 6-speed Automatic and a 5-speed manual on offer when launched.
Being as large as it is, it is quite spacious inside and functional too. The SUV uses a ladder frame chassis derived from the famed Colorado pick-up truck.
To keep the costs in check, we expect Chevrolet to take the CKD route with kits coming from the company`s Thailand plant.
Chevrolet has not tasted much success in the Indian market lately and especially in this segment with the Captiva. It remains to be seen if the Captiva is continued or replaced by the Trailblazer.
