The Suzuki Gixxer was revealed earlier this year by Suzuki, in an effort to increase their share in the Indian two-wheeler market. After the launch of the scooter the Suzuki Let, now its time for the big boy the Gixxer 155. Since the Suzuki’s GS 150R could not cope up with the likes of the Pulsar’s and the FZ’s, Suzuki has gone ahead and opened bookings and revealed the price of the Gixxer 155 ahead of its official launch, just to create a buzz in the market. The Suzuki Gixxer will cost Rs 84,344 (on-road, Mumbai) according to the Suzuki website.
The new Suzuki Gixxer comes powered by a 154.9 cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC engine, which produces 14.8 PS of power and 14 Nm of torque, which is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and the fuel is supplied through a carburetor. The Suzuki Gixxer is also equipped with SEP technology (Suzuki Eco Performance)– which increases boost only when required to ensure efficient riding.
Suzuki has managed to keep a balance between style and power, the Suzuki Gixxer has a powerful engine yes, but it also has some amazing features such as an LED tail lamp unit, a fully digital console, rear monoshock and first-in-its class dual exhausts, housed in a single chunky canister. The Gixxer is available in 5 vibrant colors namely: Metalic Oort Gray, Candy Antares Red, Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Triton Blue and Pearl Mirage White.
Once it is officially launched, the Suzuki Gixxer will face tough competition from its rivals the TVS Apache RTR, Hero Extreme, Honda CB Trigger and its arch rival the Yahama FZ V 2.0. Suzuki has designed the Gixxer to be stylish, powerful and fuel-efficient, with three top class qualities, we hope the Gixxer fights hard to get to the top.
