2014 Auto Expo showcased some promising bikes in every segment. The bike, which was turning heads in the 150 cc segment was the Suzuki Gixxer 150. Suzuki previously tried entering in this segment with the GS 150R but the bike failed to do well in the market. Suzuki is all set to launch the Gixxer 150 on the 10th of August 2014 and is hoping to do well in the motorcycle market. The bookings for the Gixxer 150 have already started.
Suzuki has witnessed success with their mopeds, but their motorcycles are not doing well and that is the reason why Suzuki is looking forward for the Gixxer 150’s launch. This bike has the qualities which the Indian consumer like to see in their bikes. Gixxer 150 is packed with aggressive looks, good aesthetics, high-tech display unit, efficient engine and safety.
Suzuki Gixxer 150 will have a 155cc single cylinder engine with 13.9 PS of power and a maximum torque of 13.4 Nm. You will also see SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) system included with the Gixxer. SEP system helps the bike to perform efficiently in terms of fuel consumption. A 5 speed gear box will be paired with the 155cc engine.
With aggressive looks, a well sculpted headlight and fuel tank, it also has a digital display speedo meter the shows speed, RPM, fuel level and gears. The bike will be priced in the range of Rs. 75,000 to 80,000 and will have competitors like the new Yamaha FZ, Hero Xtreme and the Honda Trigger.
