Team AutoColumn’s Scoopmeister is back again and after spotting 2015 VW Vento, this time its about launch of Tata Bolt. 2015 Tata Bolt will be launched digitally in India. The launch will happen in Mumbai as well as all showrooms of Tata Motors, where customers can witness the launch of the car in showroom digitally and take the digital drive experience of the car. There is also the possibility of Tata Motors is preparing a mock model of Bolt driving simulator for this launch to enhance customer experience.
Tata Motors really worked hard for Bolt and Zest cars and that is evident from the fit and finish of the cars. The quality, space and comfort are aligned to driving dynamics of both the cars. The Bolt comes with many features that are segment’s first like, 3 driving modes, turbocharged petrol engine with AMT gearbox and overall cabin space which is more than any of the hatchback in its segment. Sharing X1 platform with the Zest compact sedan, the Bolt will be positioned under Zest in terms of pricing. Just like Zest expect a very competitive pricing for the Bolt and as we speculate it will be 3.99 Lakhs.
In terms of engine the Bolt will have same engines as the Zest, 1.2 liter turbo petrol (Revvotron) motor in petrol that pumps 88 bhp and 140 Nm of torque and in diesel mill same 1.3 liter Fiat’s improved version of multijet engine that produces 74 bhp of peak power and 190 Nm of peak torque. 5 speed manual gearbox will be standard for both variants. AMT variant will come with 1.2 liter turbo petrol engine. As Tata Zest AMT is already having long waiting periods, expect the waiting periods of Bolt likely to shoot up for AMT variant.
