Earlier this year, we posted spy images of the upcoming Tata Safari Storme facelift and today we have a rendering of the highly awaited refreshed version of the Storme. The Safari Storme facelift can be launched anytime now and the new model, together with the just launched new generation Scorpio, will increase the heat in Indina SUV market.
The Tata Safari Storme facelift will have a mildly refreshed front fascia that will sport a new front grille and a revised bumper. Rest of the car could remain absolutely unchanged as none of the test mules that have been seen so far have had camouflage only at the front fascia. The Safari facelift will continue to be powered by the same 2.2 liter VARICOR turbor diesel engine that can be found under the hood of the current model. We are however hoping that Tata Motors would tweak this engine to extract more power and fuel economy. At present, this engine develops a maximum power of 140 PS and peak torque produced is 320 Nm. We guess that these figures will be improved to around 150 PSand 335 Nm.The refreshed Tata Safar Storme is also expected to come with both a five speed manual and a four speed automatic gearbox. Tata might also enhance the features list to make its popular SUV come across as a better value for money product.
