Tata Safari Storme Varicor 400 4×2 variant launched at INR 13.52 lakhs and 4×4 variant at INR 14.60 lakhs.
We had recently reported the launch of the Tata Safari Storme Varicor 400. This article has all the details of the more powerful Safari. The new Safari will be offered in addition to the VX (top-end) trim. The new variant will be offered with an option of 4×2 as well 4×4 drive systems.
The Tata Safari Storme Varicor 400 4×2 variant costs INR 13.52 lakhs and the 4×4 variant will cost INR 14.60 lakhs. Both the prices are ex-showroom Delhi. Other variants of the Safari will continue to be powered by the existing Varicor 320 which produces 150 HP and a peak torque of 320 NM.
The new Safari will be powered by a more powerful Varicor 400 engine that is good to produce 156 HP (6 HP more than the Varicor 320) and a peak torque of 400 NM (80 NM more than the Varicor 320). This engine will be mated on a new 6-speed Manual Transmission.

The new Tata Safari Storme Varicor 400 does not feature any updates on the exteriors other than the Varicor 400 badge at the rear. The interior are also unchanged. The only difference in the interiors is the new Harman sourced infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, Navigation, Speed sensitive volume control, etc. Safety features include ABS, EBD and Dual Airbags as standard.
The new 4×4 variant features Limited Slip Differentials. The power and torque addition along with other features are expected to improve the overall off-roading capability of the Tata Safari Storme.
