What we all know about Mahindra is it long standing performance even on tough roads while any Sedan or Hatchback couldn’t afford that luxury. That’s the leverage Mahindra has earned under its belt. For all the people who have dreaming about the Mahindra XUV facelift is that the launch has confirmed for May 25.
Like any other XUV running on roads, this advanced version has a public announcement on working on Automatic gearbox for the commuters to have a pleasant travel. Also, the car has completely redesigned front featuring a new headlight cluster with S-shaped LED daytime running lights, a chrome-etched grille, new fog lamp pockets with chrome highlights and a new bumper.
A new Purple body colour, rehashed 10-spoke alloy wheels, and a larger chrome garnished rear registration plate enclosure round up the changes on the 2015 Mahindra XUV500. While the dashboard appears the same as the current model, the color theme has been changed. With the facelift, Mahindra will add an all-new W10 variant which will be slotted above the XUV500 W8. The W10 model will come with more cabin features and will be dearer to the wallet by INR 1 lakh. This top-of-the-line variant will carry over many of the goodies that were fitted to the limited Mahindra SUV.
The Mahindra XUV gets the standard interior of any standard car but with the addition of the relevant gauges for the hybrid system. We also expect that Mahindra will start offering driving modes to make optimum use of the hybrid technology for the XUV500. Standard features are also expected to include climate control, 2-DIN music system with reversing camera, leather seats and the usual host of buttons and gadgets.
And more to add, the new exclusive edition has spanned only 700 units.
The 2015 Mahindra XUV500 is powered by a 2.2-liter four-cylinder mHawk140 diesel engine making this the first diesel hybrid in the Indian market. Nevertheless, this high powered engine 140 bhp @ 3,750 rpm and 330 Nm @ 1,600-2,800 rpm. As standard, it gets a 6-speed manual gearbox with 2WD and 4WD options. Mahindra has also included regenerative braking as part of the hybrid drive train. While the standard XUV500 is offered with a six-speed manual, we expect Mahindra will fit this car with an AMT (from the Quanto AT) to get maximum from the hybrid system.
The price is expected to be in the range of 11-16 Lakh INR.
