Ford India unveiled its much awaited sub-4metre sedan Ford Figo Aspire on Saturday. The car will be available in both petrol and diesel variants and will be launched in August this year, sources when approached.
Features confirmed are six airbags (front dual, side and curtain bags) along with ABS and EBD, Ford’s SYNC with AppLink entertainment system with Voice Commands, MyFord Dock (on lower variants), Ford MyKey that allows the owner to restrict the top-speed and music volume of the car, auto climate control, EPAS with Pull Drift Compensation (electric power steering), height adjustable seat belts, leather seats, 14-inch alloy wheels, and ESP & Hill Launch Assist reserved to the automatic transmission variant.
What that amazes me the most is that the car is sooner available with three different engines and two transmissions.
The Ford Figo Aspire comes with a 1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine with a displacement of 1,196 cc that churns out a total power of 88 PS and 112 Nm of torque, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox with a fuel efficiency of 18.16 km/l. The diesel engine of Ford Figo Aspire comes with a 1.5-litre TDCI Duratorq unit with a displacement of 1,498 cc with a total power output of 100 PS and 215 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and delivers a fuel mileage of 25.83 km/l. Moreover, the top-end Ford Figo Aspire comes with a 1.5-liter Ti-VCT engine with a capacity of 1,499 cc producing 112 PS and 136 Nm of torque and mated with the six-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission.
The Figo Aspire is 3,995 mm long, 1,695 mm wide, 1,525 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,491 mm. It weighs 995-1,015 kg (1.2L petrol), 1,023-1,048 kg (1.5L diesel) and 1,038-1,047 kg (1.5L petrol).
The boot space capacity on the Ford Figo Aspire is 359 litres, while its ground clearance of 174 mm, and turning radius of 4.9 m. The new Ford Figo Aspire will be available in Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+ variants with 6 different color options.
