Hyundai just launched the 2018 Elite i20 Facelift at the Auto Expo. The South Korean car maker has now released a video explaining the various new features and design highlights of the new premium hatchback. The new Elite i20 competes with the Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz and the Volkswagen GT Twins. Here’s the video.
As you can make out, the key highlights of the car include the mildly revised front end styling, with a new bumper and grille combination. The alloy wheels also have a new design. The biggest design changes are at the rear of the car, which shows new tail lamps with a different LED pattern, a new hatch lid and also a revised bumper. The interiors of the car remain more or less unchanged from the pre-facelift model, but continue to have a lot of interesting features.
The 17.7 cm touchscreen infotainment unit is new. The car gets a sliding driver’s armrest while the rear seat also gets an armrest with cup holders. Features such as a high-end audio system from Arkamys, rear AC vents and front and rear tweeters add to the luxurious feel of the car. The i20 Elite gets 2 engine options – a 1.2 liter petrol (82 Bhp-115 Nm) and a 1.4 liter turbo diesel (89 Bhp-220 Nm). The 1.4 liter petrol engine has been dropped from the line-up.
The petrol engine gets a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard while the diesel gets a 6 speed manual. In the coming months, the petrol i20 will also get a CVT automatic option. Dual tone paint finish is also available, along with a new orange shade. Prices of the car start from Rs. 5.35 lakhs, and deliveries have already started. The main strengths of the i20 Elite continue to be feature-rich interiors, a powerful turbo diesel engine, great looks and high quality levels, inside-out.
